Why Not Mars

Some argue that the moon is closer. Mars is farther but the cost is about the same. Time is the only true variable. Once a vessel is on the trajectory to mars no other fuel is necessary until the retrofire to enter orbit, same as moon. Mars has the potential to be terraformed and atmosphere established. The moon never will, not enough rotation to create stable temperatures. The moon has strategical value to the military. Mars has value to the entire human race.
Future blogs will outline vague criteria for personnel to man the Mars colonization. I am not a scientist but an educated observer and wish only to get the conversation started. Surely others will have expertise in every area and can give more specifics on each phase of this endeavor.

MARS PIONEERS

The cost of sending a crew of astronauts to mars and back would be much more expensive than sending a group of pioneers for permanent migration. just the return fuel would pay for all supplies and equipment to supply a small colony. modules could be sent one way and paradropped to the mars surface awaiting the arrival of the mars colony.
It should be understood that this is a information sharing blog and is in no way affiliated with any space exploration entity. we will be discussing cost and liquidation of assets. purchase of tickets and allocation of resources once the group reaches mars. emergency procedures on the planet are important and will be considered. Isaac Asimov and others have advocated this type of exploration and the time is here when such an endeavor is possible. There is a lot of information to cover and many surprises will reveal themselves as time goes on. I hope you enjoy this possible real life adventure and look forward to sharing it with many people.
